Greetings & blessings friends in the phone,
Is there anything better than the narcissism of LISTS? I can't stop reading year-end music lists. I love the indulgence of ranking things that are inherently slippery, deeply emotional and often too specific. Because time is not real, year-end album favs are a close approximation to actually feeling change happen, and that is a sentimentality I won't give up. Self-mythologizing is what it's all about. Ban me!!!!! Never give up on excess!!!
This isn't my own list but a collection of songs/albums people have sent me for no good reason. I think the voyeurism is exciting. Year-end lists are almost exclusively written by critics and cool musicians, and I deeply craved anonymous shitposting. I like the idea of knowing this was that one song that cut through for someone. Like, hey, idiot, stop what you're doing. Look at this. I know beauty, I have ideas, and I can break your mind and make you look into your heart and say thank you.
Thanks for letting me project. Here are all your songs, read em' n weep freaks <:o)))))
